Clear Branding on the Shelf: Custom ESL Tags for The Buy New Zealand Made Campaign
The team at The Buy New Zealand Made Campaign came to us with a sharp brief: they needed thousands of durable, supermarket-ready ESL tags that would help shoppers spot Kiwi-made products fast. With NZ Made Day on the horison and a major supermarket partnership in play, these tags had to do more than just hang there, they needed to pop off the shelf, survive daily retail handling and represent the trusted NZ Made mark with clarity and pride.
Built for the Front Line of Retail
We screen printed 10,000 double-sided ESL tags on 0.6mm white polypropylene, tough enough to stand up to supermarket conditions without bending or tearing like standard card. Each tag measured 54 x 36mm, printed in Black and Cool Grey 8 on both sides for maximum visibility and brand consistency. Once approved, we die-cut every tag to shape and packed them in neat ziplock bags of 100, ready for use in-store.
Fit for Purpose, Down to the Delivery
These tags were delivered to two supermarket locations, one in Wellington, one in Oamaru, as a pilot to test the impact on shelf visibility. From print durability to pack weight (exactly 84g per 100 units), every detail was dialled in to make sure they held their own in a busy retail environment.
Here’s what the client had to say in their Google review:
"Colourcraft is a fantastic, boutique printer. Responsive, attentive and produce great work!" – Anna Heyward, The Buy New Zealand Made Campaign
