Wellington-based digital agency Springload came to us with a bold idea: create a high-end custom gift that would showcase their creativity and leave a lasting impression on clients and partners. The solution? A full, bespoke deck of playing cards — every face uniquely designed, fully branded and packaged in an understated but premium black-on-black carton. The goal was to match the sophistication of their design work with a physical product that delivered the same attention to detail.

Built for quality, finished for impact

We printed 200 decks on a thick 300gsm silk matt stock, laminated both sides for a soft-touch finish and built-in scuff resistance — ideal for a product designed to be handled. Then each card was die-cut to a rounded-corner rectangle. For the packaging, we designed a custom two-piece carton structure using 320gsm Popset Black — a rich, uncoated stock that holds shape beautifully. The lid was screen printed in clear spot UV varnish to deliver an elegant black-on-black finish, subtle until the light catches it.
