When VML New Zealand came to us with ‘The Book that Ended Cancer,’ we knew it wasn’t just another print job—it was part of a meaningful campaign. Commissioned by The Cancer Society of New Zealand, the initiative aimed to raise awareness and drive real change around cervical cancer in Aotearoa.

We’d already been working closely with VML to produce a premium, cost-effective short run of perfect-bound, full-colour books. The goal was to create something remarkable for 25 well-known New Zealanders who would receive copies, add their stories, and amplify the message through their networks.

Then came an unexpected opportunity: Hilary Barry wanted to read from the book the very next day on Seven Sharp. The only catch? The books hadn’t been printed yet, we’re in Wellington—and the show films in Auckland.

VML could have worked with a local Auckland printer, but when timing was critical and the quality needed to be spot on, they trusted us. We produced a handful of books in just a few hours—printed, bound, and ready for an urgent courier to the airport. From Wellington to Auckland, in time for the cameras.

We ran the job on our Konica Minolta AccurioPress C4070 to ensure sharp, consistent colour and perfect alignment across every page. Covers were printed full colour one side on 350gsm Advance Laser, finished with a scuff-resistant matt laminate for a soft-touch, durable feel. Pages were printed throughout on 120gsm Advance Laser for a smooth, high-quality finish.
