Simfuni is an Auckland-based insurtech company that helps insurance businesses ditch legacy platforms and modernise their operations. So when they needed a promotional tool that could make that message land in person, at conferences, in sales meetings, with investors. A custom playing card deck was a smart move. The concept: a tongue-in-cheek deck called *Are You Still Gambling on Legacy Platforms?* The execution had to match the brand. Premium feel, clean print, and packaging that looked the part.

We produced 100 sets of 54 playing cards, sized at 63 × 88mm, printed double-sided in full colour on 300gsm Pro Digital Silk stock. Each card was matt laminated on both sides for a smooth, scuff-resistant finish, then die-cut to size and weeded of waste. Cards were packed into custom-printed tuck-in cartons, produced on 260gsm Tiger FBB cartonboard, matt laminated on the face, die-cut and glued, creating a complete, finished product ready to hand over or ship out.

Print was handled on our Konica Minolta AccurioPress C4070 with integrated quality control that checks colour and registration in real time across every sheet. No drift, no inconsistency. What you approve in proof is what comes off the press. Carton die-cutting was done on our JWEI 6040, which handles custom shapes without expensive tooling or setup delays, keeping the project moving efficiently.

We supplied artwork templates, managed the proofing process for both cards and cartons, and guided the client through a smooth approval. There was a time pressure element too, a portion of the decks were needed ahead of an overseas event, so getting the proofing and sign-off process right first time mattered. Clear communication on both sides meant the project moved from artwork submission to approved proof without revisions, and into production on schedule.
The result was a professional, premium card deck, produced in Wellington and ready to travel.
